The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association is currently seeking a:
Digital Asset Manager

Reporting to the Director of Archives and the Hollywood Bowl Museum, the Digital Asset Manager provide ongoing administration for the digital asset management system for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.
- In consultation with the Archives Director, execute the strategy for the implementation and workflow of the enterprise-wide digital asset management system
- Develop, implement and maintain a consistent and successful communication and change management plan
- Coordinate and oversee the ongoing ingest of assets into the system in support of current and future organizational initiatives
- Lead meetings, discussions, training sessions and workflow discovery workshops with staff and project working groups; create and provide succinct, clear presentations to stakeholders
- Work directly with assets, data and the system by contributing, organizing, describing and disseminating assets as needed; suggest ways to enhance automation of tagging and asset ingest
- Maintain metadata and taxonomy models, evaluate possible changes on an ongoing basis
- Perform digital asset lifecycle maintenance activities, such as digital archiving and asset expiration
- Maintain high quality standards and ensure digital asset production is optimized by designing the right processes
- As the system administrator, provide technical support and troubleshooting services to users including managing permissions and third-party access requests
- Act as champion of the digital asset management system within and outside the Association, as one of the primary experts of all aspects of the system
- Work closely with Information Technology department to evaluate digital storage solutions and policies and provide guidance for adjustments as necessary
- Act as main liaison between vendor and business users to ensure system is working properly and new features/functionality are added as needed
- Monitor the needs of the Association and the system usage and capabilities to ensure that it continually meets organizational expectations
- Create and support best practices to improve the system, processes, SLAs, and communication opportunities; conduct routine analysis of system performance including user experience, search performance and points of system slowdowns to suggest and implement new solutions
- Maintain accurate procedures and records for the system; track performance and gather user feedback; generate reports for management
- Keep informed of latest digital asset management technology trends and innovations
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited school or M.A. with concentration in Digital Curation, Moving Images or Records Management. Educational emphasis with digital collections strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, including work with digital emphasis; experience applying of metadata content/structure standards relevant to the archival control of digital objects (DACS, EAD, Dublin Core, PBCore)
- Music history background and familiarity with other performing arts strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in planning, organizing and directing multiple projects and activities; keen attention to detail along with effective problem-solving and analytical skills
- Track record of project management experience with ability to perform core PM documentation, including Statements of Work and Business Requirements Documentation and authoring status reports
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of workflow management needed to lead the development and implementation of workflow system for the entire organization
- Advanced experience with databases as well as solid knowledge of digital content formats and standards
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders in a rapidly changing and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff; highly developed writing skills needed to synthesize information for management reports and presentations
- Experience positively influencing stakeholders and overseeing the work of others
- Familiarity with web publishing and content management systems best practices/standards preferred as well as the knowledge of media Digital Rights Management (DRM)
