Traveling art exhibit centered around the refugee crisis
Calling all artists (students and professionals)
Asylum Seekers: Moria is a documentary film highlighting the refugee crisis in Europe while exposing the atrocities in the Moria refugee camp located in Lesbos, Greece. The film is in between pre and post production with 250,000 dollars needed to finish and start distribution.
This is a recent article/video for more information:
We are looking for U.S.-based artists to create pieces of art centered around the refugee crisis. The goal is to create a compelling show that will travel to several cities in California and beyond raising awareness of the inhumane ways asylum seekers are being treated globally.
Our vision is to have the works of art hanging in between still photos taken from the camp and a short version of the documentary playing throughout the show.
The goal is to charge a small fee for the art to be seen and have running bids on works to get as many eyes on the pieces as possible. Each piece will be auctioning off at the end of the tour with proceeds going to the film.
We will select the top 20 pieces for the show. We do not have any requirements as long as the piece is no bigger than 2 by 3 feet. We welcome a variety of artists to show their creativity and skill. Unfortunately we will not be selecting photography or any video project.
No fee to apply, this is a fundraiser so we will not be able to pay. The art will be sold at the end of the traveling show to help pay for the film to be distributed. It will be great exposure and it is a great cause! Hope you will help us out!
