Council Meeting: Next Week in San Luis Obispo

The Arts Council will meet on Thursday, September 22 at the Monday Club located at 815 Monterey St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.

Council Meeting: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Grants Workshop: 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The public is invited to attend and address the Council during the public comment period. A detailed meeting agenda is available at: http://arts.ca.gov/aboutus/councilmeetingfiles/2016/agenda20160922.pdf

We'll also offer a special grants workshop following the Council's business meeting. Arts Council Programs Officer Shelly Gilbride will provide an overview of the California Arts Council's state grant process and train local arts and culture nonprofit organizations in best practices for successful grant applications.

Survey: California Cultural Districts Public Input

The California Arts Council is undergoing an extensive planning process for the development of California's first statewide cultural districts program. We're gathering input via public meetings, one-on-one interviews, and via a new survey. All interested parties are encouraged to weigh-in via the brief online survey, available at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CAC-CD. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) -- a national nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to the promotion, advancement, development, and cultivation of the Latino arts field -- is offering the following grants with upcoming deadlines:

Grants for US-based Latino artists, ensembles & organizations: NALAC Fund for the Arts

The NALAC Fund for the Arts supports US-based Latino artists and arts organizations in the development, creation, presentation and sustainability of artistic excellence, as well as the opportunity to participate in activities that contribute to professional and organizational growth. Grants for collaborative projects between the US, Mexico, and/or Central America: Transnational Cultural Remittances
