Live Webcast: Poetry Out Loud National Finals

On April 29 and 30, fifty-three high school students who advanced from poetry recitation competitions in all 50 states and 3 US territories will gather in Washington, D.C. to match their skills in reciting classic and contemporary poetry in the 2014 Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest. CREATE CA Receives National Recognition

In an article outlining a new national vision for arts education, NEA Director of Arts Education, Ayanna Hudson, highlights the work of California's own arts education coalition. The CREATE CA coalition was born in 2011, after a six-member California team lead by Malissa Shiver, then chair of the California Arts Council, and Craig Cheslog, principal advisor to California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, attended the NEA's sixth Education Leaders Institute.
