Councilmember Wylie Aitken of Orange County reapppointed by Governor Brown

"Wylie Aitken, 69, of Anaheim, has been appointed to the California Arts Council," announced Governor Brown's press office on February 22, 2011. "He was previously appointed to the Council in March 2010."

California Arts Council sends letters to California Congressional delegation in support of NEA

Because of the importance of funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for arts-related jobs, and because of recent proposals in Washington to severely cut the federal agency's budget, members of the California Arts Council voted to inform the California delegation of their concerns that a severe decrease in NEA funding would adversely impact California.

Arts lovers can directly support the arts on "Tax Day" this year -- and we want as many Californians as possible to know about it. The California Arts Council has created flyers and web banner ads to help spread the word that California taxpayers can now contribute part of their state tax refund to the California Arts Council.

The California Arts Council to Meet in Los Angeles

The California Arts Council will meet on March 1, 2011, at the Collins Center at Loyola Marymount University, 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90045. The meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at approximately 5:00 p.m.
