Legislature passes historic budget package after all-night session; Governor expected to sign Friday morning

After a series of long legislative sessions, some lasting until the wee hours of the morning, with the last until seven a.m. on the morning of Thursday, February 17, the California State Legislature approved a budget package for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. The budget for the California Arts Council is $5.6 million.

NEA funding included in the Congressional Economic Stimulus Plan

The federal economic stimulus package includes $50 million for arts-related jobs to be distributed through the National Endowment for the Arts, reported the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA).
